Signing in a different way than before can create a second, separate account.
The second account starts empty and does not have your data or your subscription.
Here's how to get back to your original account.
How it happens
- You first created your account with one sign-in method, for example your email.
- Later you signed in another way, for example Sign in with Apple with "Hide My Email" turned on.
- That created a new account with a different email, instead of opening your original one.
How to get back to your original account
- Sign out of the account you are in now.
- Open the sign-in screen again.
- Sign in the same way you did the first time:
- Sign in with Apple (iPhone and iPad only), Sign in with Google, or
- your first name, last name and the email you first used, then Continue.
- If you signed in with your email, enter the 6-digit code we email you.
- Check that your data and subscription are back.
Going forward
- Always sign in the same way, with the same email.
- When you use Sign in with Apple, don't choose "Hide My Email" if you already have an account with your real email.
What happens to the other account?
The other account stays as it is and does not affect your original account.
Anything you added while you were signed in to it stays in that account.
Troubleshooting
- No code in your email: check your spam or junk folder, wait a minute, then tap Resend.
- The code doesn't work: only the most recent code works.
Use the newest email, or tap Start Over and try again.
- Still can't get in: open Help in the app and tap Contact us.
Tell us the email of your original account.
